Ayako Takagi
Ayako Takagi was born in Japan’s inspirational capital city, Tokyo. Growing up in a family of designers, her parents being jewellery artists, the creative surroundings of her childhood had a great impact on Takagi.
From doodling to drawing and illustrating, she was encouraged and stimulated throughout her years in high school before making the requisite journey to London to study art at Camberwell College of Arts. It was here where she first started drawing the Uamou comic book series which later became the inspiration for her giant leap into the field of designer toys.
Pictures without words. According to Takagi, it is more satisfying to create works that enable people to use their own imagination and concentrate more on the drawings themselves.
