Mars-1
Mario Martinez, aka Mars 1 is a product of the San Francisco contemporary art scene, a city in which he also received a degree in fine arts while studying at the Academy of Art University.
Mars 1 loves sci-fi and, along with a style firmly rooted in graffiti and urban culture, he includes many fantastical elements in his paintings. Far from being trapped by an esoteric categorisation, his art is more sinister and brings to mind classics such as Alien.
His first toy was created after a mutual friend organised a meeting with the founders of StrangeCo, who subsequently offered him the chance of bringing to life a character from his paintings. Mars 1 is now a StrangeCo regular, acclaim for his toys is rising to new heights and his strategic collaborations have begun a countdown to the launch of his painting prominence.
