Mark Nagata’s passions are toys and art. Ask any of Mark’s friends and they will invariably say… toys and art. Toys and art: the two words just sound good together!
Mark Nagata is a 1980s graduate from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. An early and timely switch to NYC kick-started a career which now incorporates all elements of commercial illustration. Over the years he's worked with a diverse client list covering Scholastic Books, IT giants such as AMD, IBM and Sony, DC Comics, Lucasfilms, Hasbro Toys and numerous national and international advertising and design firms.
The immense number of assignments, coupled with the deadlines from hell took a toll, both mentally and physically on Mark. "I had to reassess what was important in my life and refocus my abilities towards a new goal."
This goal found its form in Super7, a magazine devoted to Marks’s primary passions. 4 years later, Mark handed over the reins of Super7 to start Max Toy Co., which produces its own exclusive and original toys.
"Max Toy Co. will allow me to produce original artwork, sculpt new toys, and work directly with a lot of my talented artist friends."
So dreams really can come true.
